4" Bollard Covers with Reflective Tape

The 4" BollardGard™ Bollard Cover with Reflective Tape provides a durable, low-maintenance way to improve the appearance and visibility of existing steel bollards. Designed to fit bollards up to 4.5" outside diameter, the cover conceals rust, chipped or faded paint, discoloration, and weathered surfaces while creating a clean and consistent finished appearance.

Manufactured from .125" thick high-density polyethylene (HDPE), each cover incorporates two recessed 1" reflective tape bands made from 3M™ #5100 Scotchlite™ reflective film. The reflective bands increase visibility in parking areas, warehouses, loading zones, storefronts, and other locations where bollards need to remain noticeable, particularly in lower-light environments.

BollardGard™ is UV-stable for indoor and outdoor applications and is backed by a 5-year warranty against cracking and fading. Included GripperTabs™ provide quick installation without drilling or permanently modifying the existing bollard.

Available Heights

The 4" Reflective BollardGard™ cover is available in 52", 64", and 72" standard heights. All three sizes have the same 4.7" inside diameter and are designed to fit bollards up to 4.5" outside diameter.

Custom lengths are also available with no cutting charge. For the best installation, select a cover approximately 2"–4" taller than the existing bollard to allow for variations in bollard height and concrete domes.

Reflective Visibility

Each cover includes two recessed 1" reflective tape bands. Recessing the reflective material into the cover provides a clean, integrated appearance while helping make the bollard more noticeable around vehicle and pedestrian traffic areas.

The reflective material is 3M™ #5100 Scotchlite™ Film and is available in black, blue, green, orange, red, white, and yellow.

How to Determine the Correct Bollard Cover Size

This 4" BollardGard™ cover has a 4.7" inside diameter and is designed to fit bollards measuring up to 4.5" outside diameter.

For the most accurate measurement, measure straight across the widest part of the existing bollard to determine its outside diameter (OD). This method works best when the top of the bollard is accessible and not obstructed by excess concrete.

If measuring the outside diameter directly is difficult, measure the circumference of the bollard and divide by 3.14 (π):

Outside Diameter = Circumference ÷ 3.14

For example, a bollard with a circumference of approximately 14" has an outside diameter of approximately 4.46", which fits within the maximum recommended 4.5" outside diameter for this cover.

Choosing the Correct Height

Select from 52", 64", or 72" standard heights or request a custom-cut length.

For the best finished installation, select a cover approximately 2"–4" taller than the exposed bollard height. The additional height helps accommodate concrete domes and small variations between installed steel bollards.

When multiple covers are being installed throughout the same property, using a consistent finished cover height can create a cleaner and more uniform appearance even when the underlying bollards vary slightly in height.

Why Use Bollard Covers?

Exposed steel bollards can require recurring maintenance as paint fades, chips, peels, and exposes the underlying surface to weathering. BollardGard™ covers provide a cleaner alternative by enclosing the existing post rather than repeatedly sanding and repainting it.

For facilities with multiple bollards, covers also provide a more consistent appearance by creating a uniform color, finish, diameter, and installed height. The recessed reflective bands make this version especially useful in areas where increased visibility is desired.
