The 6" Square BollardGard™ Cover with Reflective Tape provides a durable, low-maintenance way to improve the appearance and visibility of existing square or round steel and wood posts. Designed to fit square posts up to 6" × 6", each cover features a clean peaked top and two 1" reflective tape bands for increased visibility in parking areas, warehouses, loading zones, storefronts, and other commercial or industrial environments.

Manufactured from heavy-duty .188" thick low-density polyethylene (LDPE), the cover conceals rust, chipped paint, discoloration, and weathered surfaces without the recurring maintenance associated with repainting exposed posts. The UV-stable material is suitable for indoor and outdoor use and is backed by a 5-year warranty against cracking and fading.

Installation is fast and does not require permanently modifying the existing post. Foam installation strips are included to secure the cover and compensate for differences between the post and the 6.5" inside dimension. GripperTabs™ are also available by request for compatible installations. 

Built-In Reflective Visibility

Each cover includes two 1" bands of 3M™ #5100 Scotchlite™ reflective film, helping make posts easier to identify in low-light environments and areas with vehicle or pedestrian traffic. Reflective tape is available in multiple colors, allowing the cover configuration to better match facility safety, visibility, or appearance requirements.

Technical Specifications

Custom Heights Available

The standard cover height is 60", but custom-cut lengths are available with no cutting charge. When determining the required height, we recommend ordering the cover approximately 2"–4" taller than the existing post.

The additional height helps compensate for variations between individual posts and for concrete that may form a dome above the top of a steel bollard. Using covers of a consistent finished height also creates a cleaner and more uniform appearance throughout a property or facility.

How to Select the Correct Bollard Cover Size

This square BollardGard™ cover has a 6.5" inside dimension and is designed to fit square posts measuring up to 6" × 6". The cover can also be installed over appropriately sized round posts by using foam to fill the space between the existing post and the inside of the square cover.

For square posts, measure the width of the existing post from one outside edge to the opposite outside edge. The post should not exceed 6" in either direction.

For round bollards, measure the outside diameter directly whenever possible. If only the circumference can be measured, divide the circumference by 3.14 (π) to determine the approximate outside diameter:

Outside Diameter = Circumference ÷ 3.14

Standard Foam Installation

Foam installation material is included with this cover and provides a simple way to securely position the sleeve over the existing post. Foam is particularly useful when the post is smaller than the cover's 6.5" inside dimension or when the square cover is being installed over a compatible round post.

Depending on the size of the existing post and the clearance between the post and cover, 3/4" or 2" foam strips may be used to create a secure and properly centered installation.

Why Cover Existing Bollards?

Painted steel and wood posts can require repeated maintenance as their surfaces fade, chip, peel, rust, or weather over time. A BollardGard™ cover provides a cleaner alternative by enclosing the existing post rather than repeatedly refinishing it.

For facilities with multiple bollards, covers also create a more consistent appearance because each unit maintains the same shape, finish, color, and installed height. The addition of reflective bands makes this version especially useful in locations where bollards need to remain more noticeable in low-light environments.
